Autumnal equinox

Today is the autumnal equinox, the official first day of autumn. Even though autumn truly starts with the month, in my humble opinion. But the equinox makes it somewhat more real. And to commemorate it, I thought I would upload here this image of my favourite dog, Snoopy. I found this on Facebook and just had to use it. Although I do not like the americanism "Fall". It's not Fall. It's Autumn.

Agreed on both parts; Autumn, not Fall, and it really begins at the start of September. But Happy real Autumn now then!

I never realized until recently that Americans don't use the word "autumn" for this time of year like the rest of the civilized world.

Actually, the term "Fall" was common in England. A rather poetical foreshortening of "Fall of the Leaf", which is a lovely little turn of phrase I must say. I think I'll bring it back!

A Happy Harvest, a Ruddy Ruo, a Fantastic Fogamar!

And a Fine Fall 'o' The Leaf to you!
