A friend from the playground

I mentioned recently that boisterous boys seem to take a natural liking to little Wolfie, even though he is only almost two and they are thus older. There is one in particular, an eight year old boy, whom my wife and Wolfie often see in the playground that is near our home. He became very sociable with them and often decides to stick around when they are there... until his mum asks him to go home for dinner. I don't know if he is an only child or if he has sisters or whatever, but for some reason he enjoys spending time with our son. Yesterday, I went to the playground with our little cub. There was nobody else around, but at some point, the boy came on his bike, stopped there, went in and said: "Hi, I came to say hello!" He did little else, just looked at me, at my son, kind of unsure. I think he feels a bit intimidated by me, as he had only seen me one or two times, and never without my wife. I asked him if he was a friend of Wolfie, he answered yes, then said: "Well, I am going now, goodbye!" and he went on his bike after waving goodbye. I thought it was quite cute, that he wanted to take a bit of his time to see him.
