Cutting branches
This morning, we were woken up early by workers cutting branches on the trees that are on the business building next to our garden. It was noisy as hell. Not only did it wake us up, but it also scared the living daylights out of Domino. To say that we hated it was an understatement. Thankfully, only the lower branches were cut and the trees are still standing. They are large trees and, while the lower branches were invading the alleyway (our secret passage) and sometimes putting shades on the garden, I always loved the way they filtered the lights. And hid the building behind us, as a sort of natural barrier. It seems that someone decided that the trees and shrubbery in the whole neighbourhood needed trimming, as we saw and heard the sound of chainsaws everywhere. It only stopped in the middle of afternoon. It will take time to get used to it and I am not sure I like what they did, but at least the trees are still standing.
