The bookcase, at last!
Great news tonight: after more than a month since we have moved in, we now have a bookcase standing! This was one of the things I was missing the most. When we had moved in, all our books were in boxes or piled up in wardrobes. Well, most of them are still in boxes, but at least we have a proper place for them and I have started placing them on the shelves. I bought the bookcase early on, but not being very good handyman, I had no idea how to set it up. So the thing was in the living room, a bunch of cheap pieces of wood or faux wood that was taking space. This evening, the Tickler's father, who does that kind of things for a living, came in a set it up nicely. It is a small bookcase, it will not have enough space to store all my books (I am an avid reader and I pride myself of the size and quality of my collection), but at least a good many of them will be in their proper place. And many boxes will empty. It is amazing how tidier the house already is, all because of one fairly small bookcase. A home is not truly a home without books and shelves to rest them on.

Congratulations! A house without a bookcase is just a house. My bookcases go up before everything {except finding the box marked "Kettle and Teapot"} otherwise we could never move about to put everything else in order!
Well done! When I moved into my apartment here, my books sat on the dining room floor for 6 months before I had my shelves assembled and moved them there!
this is why i have a library!
