Pat the Giant
I took this picture at the York Castle Museum, you can see here Pat the Giant, or rather his stuffed head, dating back from 1915 apparently. It is still impressive and gives an idea of how big the bull was. When I took the picture, I knew nothing about Pat the Giant, I just thought this was an impressive bull's head, which was worth at least a snapshot. Of all the many interesting things in the museum, Pat's head was one of the most memorable. Funny how a bull that made local history, a detail in the great scheme of things and in itself not worthy of the "big" history is now immortalized after death through taxidermy. So even an animal can leave a legacy.
