"Meat pies"
My dad sent me this picture recently of a meal he had: what we call "pâtés à la viande" (basically pork mince pies), olives, homemade cranberry sauce and a bit of salad to have green vegs. With cream as salad dressing. Very simple and typically Quebecker. Autumn is a time for hearty food and you can hardly find more appropriate meal than this one for the season, although it's also often ate during Christmastime. All the same, I'd love to eat meat pies these days. It just feels right.
