Autumnal equinox

Today is the day of the autumnal equinox. On the 23rd of September, it arrives a bit late in the season this year, but here we are anyway. It is the first day of astronomical autumn. Which is a bit of an absurd concept: autumn truly starts with the first of September, for all intents and purposes. All the same, the days are finally getting shorter and it deserves to be celebrated as it is when autumn really starts to bloom. And to mark the equinox on this blog, I am sharing today this picture of a pathway in a forest, sent by my father recently. You can't get more autumnal than that.
