Mad scientists in training
This is another nostalgia post. I took this picture at the York Castle Museum. It was among the display of children toys and games of old. It's an old chemistry set. I don't know if they still sell them, but when I was a child, so about thirty years ago, I remember a few friends who had such set. They tried to do canon powder and I do remember one trying to make sulfuric acid with it. I did not witness any explosions, but a few chemical reactions resulted in some liquid erupting from the bottle. I never had one myself, sadly, although it might have been better like this. This kind of chemistry set, it's a recipe to create mad scientists.
