Last Night in Montreal
It is not quite my last night in Montreal: I will be out of the city in the night. Last night was truly my last night in Montreal. And I spent it reading... Last Night in Montreal by Emily St John Mandel. You might remember that I blogged about it two years ago, I had then stumbled upon its French translation and I wished to find the original one. Well, I found it through Amazon and it is the book I am reading at the moment. As I am about to leave my beloved Montreal, I thought it was a fitting read. So far, so not merely good, but so very beautiful and haunting. It is not truly a crime fiction novel, but a novel with crime elements. And Montreal so far has been barely mentioned. I don't mind. I love the story so far and the characters know about linguistics and university student life, so it makes it all the more enjoyable to me. And, given the title, Montreal will eventually show up.
