Christmas lights on the high street (!)

I find this a tad too early, but tonight the Christmas lights were lit in the little town where I live. At 06:30PM. Because my train was late I did not arrive to town in time to see the countdown and the lights being lit. So there are still ten days to November and the Christmas lights are on . I guess everybody wants to get in the festive spirit. There was late night shopping and the high street had been blocked to cars, so people could walk on it. There was even a snow machine at one corner, which was getting children excited. Not me though: I need the real thing, not some pitiful fake flakes. It would have looked far more festive with the real thing. It's coming, apparently. But anyway, Christmas is coming slowly, more slowly than people's attitude would make you believe, but it is nevertheless. I will blog more about Yuletide in future days, so this is a foretaste of what is to come.

We just got our first winter snow here in Edmonton this morning. Now it seems like Christmas is on its way.

We actually have five weeks before Christmas Eve! Where you are, there is no Thanksgiving to work around, so Christmas decorations seem to be in order at this point. I love Christmas!
