The Golden Age of Crime Fiction
I stumbled upon The Golden Age of Crime Fiction in a garden centre we were visiting a little bit before Christmas. I added it to my list of presents and luckily enough my wife bought it for me. I think what got me interested was the cover, with the fun and everything. I know, knew it was a coffee-table book, but all the same, I just loved the cover. A cover which is a tad misleading: it says the book is about the crime literature from 1920 to 1950, while the book covers the very beginning of crime fiction. It is also very UK centrist. Nevertheless, I learn a few things reading it, the images are quite nice and if nothing else, it's a pleasant enough coffee-table book.
