Nice little bit of news that made my evening yesterday: Cate Blanchett will chair the 2018 Cannes Festival. I am as surprised as I am happy. If somebody deserves to be chairing a film festival of such renown, it is the greatest working actress in the world and no, this is not a superlative. She is the greatest. And she is a true artist, something that cannot be said of everyone in what is also an industry. I cared very little about the Cannes Film Festival in the past. This year I will try to follow it more closely.

Nice little bit of news that made my evening yesterday: Cate Blanchett will chair the 2018 Cannes Festival. I am as surprised as I am happy. Hey, did you see Cate Blanchett as Hella the Goddess of Death in Thor: Ragnarok? She was suitably chilling and implacable.
