This is the last meal I had with my parents, the night before our departure. It was a Sunday, so that makes it a
Sunday roast, although that was completely accidental.
Roast beef like this is the only experience of Sunday roast I remember from childhood, before I even knew it was a Sunday roast: rare (or medium rare?) meat, mashed potatoes instead of roasted ones, potatoes which must be covered with parsley, and asparagus. Oh, and since I am an adult, I have red wine to go with it. I had really disappointing experiences with beef this side of the pond, I was really happy to rediscover this simple classic.
