I forgot the 5th of November

"Remember, remember the fifth of November
The gunpowder treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot."

Well, what do you know, I totally forgot it was tonight. It is true, I am tired and it is Monday. The fireworks can still be heard as I am typing this. I didn't go to Bonfire Night/Guy Fawkes Night tonight. It means little to me as a foreigner. I do have to say, the smell of smoke and fire on a cold November night like tonight is lovely. But I would rather stay warm. The fifth of November means very little to me, as I said. Not enough to go out in the cold anyway. But I thought I would upload a picture of a past bonfire from Guy Fawkes, just to give some colours of the season to this blog.

Interesting celebration. I've heard this night's proximity to Halloween is the reason Halloween isn't more popular in England.

@Gwen-It is a very English celebration.
@Halloween Spirit-I have recently read that Halloween is getting supporters here and Guy Fawkes Night is losing some of its appeal. I love many things English, but I am no big fan of it.
