Anglo-Saxon Helmet
This picture comes from the Facebook page of the British Museum. It is an Anglo-Saxon helmet found in a burial mound. More about it here. I share it here today for anyone who reads this blog and who is into history, archeology and buried treasures. Also as a reminder that England has an Anglo-Saxon heritage. I cannot wait to go back to the British Museum and see this artifact.

Lucky you! I’ve been to the British Museum only once, on my first trip to England many years ago. I was lucky enough to see the Sutton Hoo treasure, as well as treasures from Mesopotamia that I’d only ever seen in children’s books and my school art textbook.
And yes, I’m an archaeology lover. As a child I dreamed of studying it, but ended up teaching English and in a school library. I am still passionate about it.
Jeez, and WE complain about wearing a little paper face mask!
