Amy the shy black cat

I blogged before about Amy, the black cat who belongs to an elderly couple on our street. She is a friend of Domino, to our knowledge the only fellow feline Domino ever accepted as a friend. Back when we were living in our old neighbourhood, Domino was rather hostile towards other cats, something growling, sometimes hissing, never going into a fight as far as we could tell, but jealous of his territory and of his humans. Not so with Amy: if at first they were wary of each other, he now visits her place regularly. And she would do the same, if it was not for her shyness. At least twice we met her at the door, with imploring eyes, as if asking if Domi could come out to play (he was already out). Once, she entered our home (I let her) and went straight up the stairs, to run away immediately. Maybe she confused her house with ours. In any case, she never dared to cross the threshold afterwards. I think she is a bit scared of us.
