The Detective Tales cover for August
Well, this is the time of the month where I post here a cover from Detective Tales. This month was slightly easier than the last. There was plenty of Fu Manchus and racist covers, but a few that were different than what I uploaded before. I decided to go for something both simpler than before and ridiculously melodramatic. This is the cover from August 1946. You see a blonde femme fatale painting sticks of dynamite red to pass them on as candles. I wonder if she is using wax or painting. They look dangerously similar to candles. I wonder who is/are the intended victim(s). Her expression is one of cold calculation and pure evil. Sometimes I think nothing looks as evil as a blonde femme fatale. I hope you enjoy.
