A ghost town on a Sunday

We went to Wallingford last Sunday, to do something a bit different and partially because we all love this town so much. We intend to visit more and more in the coming months and beyond. Something struck me on our last visit. Something I had noticed before, but never to that extend: Wallingford is very, very quiet on a Sunday. A lot of its cafés and shops are closed, so is its bookshop (which I love so much), so it makes for a very different kind of visit. We spent a lot of time wandering around. It is still full of character and we still enjoyed ourselves, but it is a very different atmosphere. Sometimes it felt like we were all alone there.

I don't like places that close up everything on Sundays.
