The pianos of St Pancras

When I went to Paris for Work, a month and a half ago or so, I saw at St Pancras International these pianos, available to the public of travellers to play on. I love train stations and trains on any day, even if it is to travel to a city for work, knowing that the journey will be long but the stay short, therefore the whole venture exhausting. In a nices comfortable station, waiting to take the train is often the most pleasant part of the journey. Which is not quite the case of St. Pancras: I could barely find a place to sit until I got through customs. But it has nice eating places and a decent bookshop. And now, and more especially, these pianos, that just improved the whole experience. The station becomes an improvised concert hall. This man at your left played, not perfectly but this was part of the charm, the Rondo Alla Turca of Mozart. It was a lovely moment. If ever reads this, I want to thank him. And as to give you a token of the experience, I have uploaded here Alla Turca. It was also about time to have some Mozart on this blog.

This is one of the first Mozart pieces I ever heard when I was a teenager. Loved it then, love it now!

Je ne sais pas pourquoi on choisi de mettre seulement des sièges pour 5% des passagers dans les gares. Il faut croire que les gens aiment attendre le train debout!
