Catherine's Café in Wallingford
It is the weekend, a lovely sunny Saturday, maybe not quite the cold day you would need to fully appreciate afternoon tea and cakes, then again unless it's a heatwave you can't go wrong with tea and cakes on a lovely Saturday. As it is a weekend tradition on this blog, I am plugging today a place to enjoy food and drink. This time, it is Catherine's Café in Wallingford, the quintessential English town. It is called a café, but it is just as much a tea room. It serves honest, home make cakes and it is warm and friendly. One of the cakes was a bit dry, but then we went there near closing time, and anyway it was a lovely experience. There is something about small cafés in the corner of a street. If you know about feng shui, tell me what your hypothesis is. In any case, this is a pretty little independent café in a world that has too little of them.

I would love to be able to go there!
Oh how very quaint and inviting! I love little tea rooms. They are not too plentiful here in the states, let alone Florida. Guess it's usually too hot year round here for most folks to want hot tea/coffee. But not for me...I adore these kind of spots. And the one you posted looks to fresh, colorful and cheerful. Hope you all enjoyed your visit, thanks for sharing! :o)
@Nellie-It is a lovely place.
@The Artful Gypsy-I want to go back there in autumn. Wallingford in autumn must be beautiful.
