The single gunshot that set the world ablaze
I thought about blogging the post at the exact time it happened, but I am not even sure we know of the exact time. Anyway, today is/was a very special anniversary, as a friend of Facebook reminded me by posting this article on his Wall: the 100th anniversary of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. The gunshot that literally started World War 1, that set the whole world on fire. Of course there were a lot of tensions and factors that truly lead to the war, but this was nevertheless the spark that started it all. And I find it very ironic.

No one could have guessed at the time the horrors it would lead to.
