I found out not long ago this meme, which I thought was both funny and interesting. I might sound like a grumpy old man and like a terrible nostalgic. I am not certain I am the former, being sitll in my early forties, but I am certainly the latter. And I am happy with that. I used to love to read the back of cereal boxes when I was a child, sometimes the literary content was better than the food content.

Another cereal box trivia tidbit -- I'm also old enough to remember when Official Bilingualism was enacted in the early 1970s and a catchphrase among anti-bilingualism English Canadians was that they "didn't want to read French on the Corn Flakes box!"
Yes, reading cereal boxes was a thing when you were such a passionate reader that you just HAD to be reading something and you couldn’t read a book at the table.
