A piece of my wife's wisdom
Reacting to this post, my wife told me something very thoughtful: "Maybe it is time for you to celebrate Christmas as a grownup". I think she is right: I might not see my family this year, but I will celebrate it with my wife. I can also for the first time cook traditional food for Christmas. It is something I can look forward to.

Bravo. She's a wise woman.
A wife's opinion should always be valued... I know, as I am a wife also!!
I beg to differ.......I don't think spending Christmas without your extended family makes you grown-up. At my age, even though we have children and our own traditions, I still like to gather with my parents and brothers....I love my Mom's cooking and their Nativity Scene, the one from my youth......I love the kitchy plastic Santa from my first Christmas.....the stocking with the hole in it....my Dad reading T'was the Night before Chritsmas to the great grand-kids.
