The Selfish Giant

Found on youtube, an animation movie adapted from a tale by Oscar Wilde, very sweet, and some of the animation was done in Québec so I love it even more. For you to enjoy in three parts while I am out.

Ahh...here it is...my childhood memory. I don't remember but select bits and pieces of my childhood before about the age of 7. But my Mom says,(and the photos confirm, that I would spend all my free time either reading or coloring...with some occasional imaginary play. I can see now why I became a photographer and artist and writer as an adult.

The stories that I loved as a child, always centered around seasons and holidays and fairytales and magic. And my Mom always made sure to explain to me the 'moral of the story' when there was one. Since my only sibling, a brother, was 5+ years older...we had little in common. And my Father built our home and business in a rural area, so there were no other children my age with which to play. So I learned early on to entertain myself. And I grew to cherish the gift of my imagination.

I wore out the pages of that 'Selfish Giant' book. :o)
