I just watched the first episode of the HBO series Rome. Wow! I was blown away. I have been missing good historical melodrama, and that was really good stuff. And Ciaran Hinds who plays Julius Caesar...What a great actor! It's quite difficult to play historical characters, especially legendary figures such a Caesar, but he does it with such ease. There is no overplay or any cheap trick, he does it naturally. The tone of voice, the expressions, the gleam in the eye, everything is so perfect.

Okay...I am slowly going back through your old blogs. For some odd reason, that hadn't dawned on me as something I could do until tonight when reading your reply to my post on the Selfish Giant. I decided to go in search of that particular post. But I didn't realize how much posting you've actually done in the past. Wow!
So I haven't found it yet, but I must stop on this one because my husband and I watched this HBO series after it was over, by renting it at the video store. We don't actually get HBO. Anyway...I LOVED it! I would in fact, enjoy watching it again. I liked Titus Pullo and Lucius Vorenus the most. I love period stuff like this. Although I do always ask myself if they actually really used the same curse words way back then that we use today. That part seems hard for me to believe.
