Books are...

Here is another comic strip from Grant Snider, which one of my friends from way back (my undergraduate years at uni) shared on his Facebook wall. I really loved it. This is very sweet, evocative, and so very true. Funny in a witty, like Snider work is, the kind of thing that will not make you laugh, but will give you a long lasting smile. So I had to share it here. Vraie Fiction is a lot about literature, big and small (often small). This comic strip shows why.

Pig Latin

Sometimes you find silly things over the internet. I found this a few years ago, and shared it on my Facebook then, because I thought it was so hilarious. I decided to share it tonight here on Vraie Fiction, because it is still hilarious. It was written by Grant Snider and I must be forgiven as I know absolutely nothing about him (but I did share another of his cartoons here). I am really rubbish in Latin, however I know of a few expressions and pretty much all of these, some I have already used on this blog from time to time. Anyway, to make you laugh a bit and laugh intelligently like educated people, enjoy this bit of witticism.

Stages of the Readers

I found this meme on the many Facebook pages I follow. I thought it was so good that I had to share it here. This is pretty much my life as a reader in a nutshell. I never quite experiences 5 and 6 (okay, maybe 5 a bit), but otherwise, it is spot on. I could write endless posts (and I might), about 1 and 2 (heck I used to read underneath the blanket at night like this), you can read a good deal of blog posts about 3, 4 and 8 (there is even a cat on the image!) and of course I am now experiencing 9. And you, what do you think of it and what does your life experience as a reader look like?
