I know, I know, I put this song on this blog before, a lifetime ago it seems now.But I got it in the head and I think that regardless of that famous scene in Full Metal Jacket, it has artistic merit, whatever I said in my first post about it. It's full of fetishist subtext (no wonder Kubrick used it), rough poetry and it has a great beat. There is freshness and genuine, unstaged energy in Nancy Sinatra's interpretation. Maybe this is just an impression I have. But I put the song here again, just because.

The song always reminds me of that deliciously cynical scene in the deliciously cynical Full Metal Jacket, and because of this scene probably I give the song more artistic value than it deserves, but I like it anyway. So I give it to you, in its pure 60s cheesy glory, devoid of all the artistry that Stanley Kubrick infused it with.

Here is a very nice Bond theme song, from a poor Bond movie (when they started being extravagant and went way too much into sci-fi), free adaptation of a great, beautifully sinister Fleming novel. Anyway, I love the song, Nancy Sinatra has a beautiful voice and I felt like listening to it.
