Of Books and Censorship

I found this meme on one of the atheists pages I have been following on Facebook. I don't know author Judy Blume, but she is spot on here. This is how I was raised and this is how we are raising Wolfie.

I loved Judy Blume's books - they dealt with puberty and emerging sexuality and were a little controversial.

Censorship has taken a whole, very sinister direction IMO. Great children's authors like J.K. Rowling, Edith Blyton, Georges Remi and others don't fit what is socially acceptable to some. So I agree, let the child read and talk to them about the books they are reading. My grandchildren are great readers and its expanded their knowledge and imaginations wonderfully.
