"Bear & Monsters Adventure Tours"

I bought this shirt for Wolfie in Morrissons. It is their home brand of clothes and it is cheap (I think this cost me something like £5, maybe less), but it's good value for money. And I really like this shirt, which I find very cool and so very Wolfie. Because it has a bear and monsters driving a tractor in a forest. And the tractor is sentient. On top of that, they are going on an adventure, it says so on the door (which can be opened, so it's an "interactive" piece of clothing). "Bear & Monsters Adventure Tours". I don't think you can have a shirt that is more like my son than that. Every time we go somewhere, whether it is on a long journey (like the bear and the critters on the image) or a day out somewhere, I try to make him wear this one. I know it is silly.

The Unknown Bunny

Easter is coming, in fact it's just round the corner, and  it means that we see rabbits, THE animal representative of the holiday, everywhere. In Morrisons, there is (was?) a sort of draft or competition, where you have to guess this plush rabbit's name. I haven't participated yet, I thought to first check with my readership if they had any suggestions. Jack? Blossom? Come to think of it, this bunny is from Jellycat, so if I go on their website I might find his name. But they all seem to be named Bashful. Maybe you just need to invent one. What is your guess?

Jack O'Doorbell

I didn't buy any pumpkin yet for Halloween, but I bought this new decoration at Morisson's. It is not only deliciously gruesome and sinister, but when you press the red button a bell rings and a sepulchral voice is heard, saying menacing things. So it is our new doorbell, or at least the doorbell we will have for the young children coming for trick or treat. Little Wolfie tested it, he goes from excited amusement to fear. He either giggles or shake with fright (which makes me feel very guilty and his mother very grumpy). So it is to be used sparingly until the 31st. Still, I am quite happy with my new purchase. Jack O'Dorbell is a nice addition to my ever growing collection of Halloween items.

ROAR

Little Wolfie always needs new clothes, it is as if he is eating them. So sometimes, when I stop at the Morrisons near my working place, I go quickly to the children section and see what I can find. Which is generally not much. But yesterday, I found a tshirt that was reduced by 50%, at £2.50 only, which is in itself a real bargain and a good enough reason to purchase it. But I chose this tshirt in particular because of what it had on it: in capital letters, the word ROAR. And this is so like my son that I had to buy it. One of his favourite games with me is hide on say one side of his cot or a table, and me jumping at home going "roar!" like some wild beast or some monster. He laughs so hard and then he say... "roar!" So he was meant to wear that shirt. I might actually buy a second one.

Pumpkin carving planning

I saw this last week at Morrisons, which cheered me up a lot: pumpkins are now available. Unfortunately this being England, the "large" pumpkins are anything but large: they are of medium size at best. It's not like where I come from, where walking home with one was a painful exercise, like carrying a bag of bowling balls. But at least the display is nice. I will need to find at least three pumpkins this year: one for this family, the other two for the Ticklers. They paid a visit to my wife last Friday and they want to do another pumpkins carving party like last year. So we should have one again. This may be the start of a new tradition.
