Gigantic Hot Cross Buns

 Okay, so this should be my last Easter post for a while. I took this picture at the shop of Bettys in York. Bettys is a legendary tea room there, one so famous that you need to queue to get in. It's worth the wait. For Easter, they were selling these gigantic hot cross buns. A single one feeds a family of three for breakfast. I know because we bought one for Easter morning. We had enough to spare the next day. Some days I think we should move to Yorkshire. We would never go hungry.

Un macaron (pour Prof Solitaire)

Je crois que c'est ma troisième salve dans ma guerre préventive de la food porn contre Prof Solitaire. Jusqu'ici, je n'ai aucune riposte de lui. Ce dessert a été mangé par ma femme à Bettys à York. C'est un peu trop rose à mon goût, mais avec le coulis, la crème pis toute, ben c'est de la pure food porn. Mets ça dans ta pipe, Prof et essaie de faire aussi bien.

Blue Sapphire Tea

I took this picture in Bettys in York. it was getting late and near the end of our holidays, we wanted to go somewhere for dinner/supper that was we couldn't find anywhere else, or almost, and apparetly Bettys is an institution there. It was a lovely experience, but I want to focus on this post on one specific product; the tea I had after the meal. So I ordered their Blue Sapphire Tea. And it was one of the best teas I've ever had. This was a very delicate black tea, soothing and heart warming after a whole day walking through the city. No milk, no sugar, no lemon. Perfection in simplicity.
