Saint Swithin's Day

Today is St Swithin's Day. A day I have started mentioning on this blog, first in 2016, then more in recent years. We are practically midway through summer and just for that reason, it is worth bringing it up. Also because I like the folklore associated to the day. It helps me keep patient until the season is finally over. I hope you don't mind me sharing the same picture I shared in 2022, taken from What to Look for in Summer. It is one of Wolfie's books, although I read it more than he does.

St Swithin's Day

You may remember last year that I blogged about What to Look for in Summer, a book I bought at the local bookshop for Wolfie. The book taught him (and me) a lot of things about the season, among other things that today is St Swithin's Day. Today, according to folklore, we will know if summer will carry on and be hotand sunny, or will slowly dwindle and be cool and rainy. Anyway, you can read about it on the picture left. A part of me kind of dreads St Swithin's Day, but I do like the folklore associated to it.
