Ludo

There are some classic board games which I don't know much about, except that there are classic games. This is the case for Ludo. I am not even sure I played it as a child. I think a friend of mine may have had a Ludo and we may or may not have played it. I do know it is a variant of the much older Parcheesi. I did play Parcheesi, a bit, but I don't remember much about it either, except that I was a tad bored with it. It had a nice board though. Ludo's board is bit bare. Also, I like board games with elements of drama and role play (Cluedo, Scotland Yard). But it might be a good game for Wolfie, so I might put it on my birthday list. What do you think? Anyone played Ludo among you? What did you think of it?

Parcheesi

As we are getting into this time of year when I used to play board games quite a lot as a child, I was thinking to check if there were any classic board games to buy for Wolfie for the upcoming holidays. And I thought about Parcheesi. I think it might have been the very first board game I owed when I was a child. I vaguely remember my father buying us one. And I also remember liking the look of the board, because it had some fancy exotic house in the middle, but being otherwise bored to tears about the gameplay itself. So we made up our own rules as we went, then stopped playing it altogether. But maybe I misjudged it. Anybody among you ever played it? Is it worth playing? Did I misjudged Parcheesi as a child?
