Queen Cate

I almost forgotten it: today is Cate Blanchett's birthday. I will spare you a long post, just watch this clip from Elizabeth. Don't you dare tell me she wasn't robbed from an oscar that year.

Cate's Birthday

Today is the birthday of Cate Blanchett. I had almost forgotten, shame on me. She is my favourite actress since I saw her in Elizabeth. I don't know if I told the whole story, but this will be for another time, another post. Until then, spare a thought today for the greatest living actress.

Happy Birthday Queen Cate!

Here is something I celebrate on Vraie Fiction every year, or at least I try to: today is the birthday of Cate Blanchett, my favourite actress. Those who read this blog know that I discovered her with Elizabeth.I even remember hearing about her from the first time in a conversation I had at uni with a fellow undergraduate student: we were discussing the Oscars and she said Cate Blanchett should have won for best actress. I had heard her name before and was curious about the film, but she had not really caught my attention. Then I watched the movie and was blown away. I cannot remember when she became my favourite actress, or at least when I was conscious that she was. But it must have been around that time.

Happy birthday Cate the Great!

Today is the birthday of Cate Blanchett, AKA Queen Cate or Cate the Great, as if you are a fan (or a Blanchetter) you know. She is 51. I am not a fan of being a big fan of stars or celebraties, I am not really a fan of fandoms in general, so I don't hang around fanclubs on social media or elsewhere. That said, I am very much a fan of Cate Blanchett, because there are very good reasons to be a fan of Cate Blanchett. I consider her the greatest living actress, maybe the greatest actress who ever lived. And she got robbed of every Oscar she was nominated for but did not win (and a few others as well). I know I am hyperbolic today. Like I said back in 2018, I rarely worship, but with Cate Blanchett, I find it entirely justified. She is that great.

Cate Blanchett is 50 today

Well, the title says it all: the great, the amazing, the beautiful Cate Blanchett turned 50 today. Happy birthday maestra! This is one of the reasons why I love the month of May a bit more than I used to. As my readers might know already, she is my favourite actress. She took my breath away twenty years ago when I first watched Elizabeth. It might have been in May, come to think of it. I have been worshiping her acting ever since. For me, as an actress, Cate Blanchett can do no wrong.

Happy Birthday Cate!

The great Cate Blanchett turned 48 today. She does not look a day older than when I first saw her in Elizabeth. This was for me a revelation and I started following her career ever since and became a huge fan. She is still, in my humble opinion (but then I do know a thing or two about acting), the greatest actress alive and maybe of all time. So all hail to the greatest.

Happy birthday Cate Blanchett!

Today an old Facebook memory feed reminded me that it is the birthday of Cate Blanchett. Shame on me, I only mentioned her birthday on this blog in 2014. More shameful for the fan that I am, I have yet to watch all her films, having only seen a few. But had I only seen Elizabeth, where I discovered her, I would still consider her the greatest actress of her generation and the greatest one alive. This is only my opinion of course, but I happen to be absolutely right on this one. So happy birthday to a true screen goddess.

Happy Birthday Cate Blanchett

I was planning to blog about something else, but I learned about this in the news and I thought I needed to mention it: today is the birthday of Cate Blanchett. She is 45. I am not into gossip and I care very little about celebrities. I do not consider myself a groupie. That said, I care about and admire very much actors and actresses. Talented ones. Great ones. And I consider Cate Blanchett the greatest actress of her generation, the greatest working actress, period. I remember watching Elizabeth for the time back in 1999 (I had rented it, fool that I was I did not go and see it in cinema). I was mesmerized. It took one movie and she was my favorite actress. This picture was taken yesterday by the press at Windsor Castle. She does not look a day over 30. But, more importantly, she is still a mesmerizing actress.
