You might think Vraie Fiction is turning into an obituary blog since
the 12th of August. But I learned
yesterday that the legendary
Lauren Bacall died. She was 89. I know at this age, it is not a tragedy, but all the same, I have to confess it saddened me more than the suicide of Robin Williams. She was the kind of sophisticated beauty that we don't see very often. Strangely enough, I watched
The Big Sleep again this weekend, in which she played
femme fatale Vivien Rutledge so brilliantly. Ironic, that a
femme fatale should live to 89. This is the first thing that came to my mind.

Hah! We will outlive you all ;)
Two icons within a week - gone. The entertainment world has lost some outstanding ones.
she sure was something special!
A femme fatale is fatal to others, not to herself. Personally she would be a real survivor. I always liked Lauren Bacall too. She always cut right through the BS on any topic.
