No I will not blog about the 4th of July and the USA today, I am not in the mood this year so will skip it. This post is about something else. I recently mentioned that
I received another £5 voucher form the local bookshop. I thanked them publicly on social media and said I now had to find a book to spend it on. They sent me this kind reply: "
Happy choosing. Our favourite kind of dilemma." This is nice of them and their reply deserves to be a new great unknown line. And I am waiting for your suggestions if you have any.
Well, I just finished reading Madeline Miller's "Circe," but I know you already have a copy of that. Read it yet? Right now, I've just started "All My Puny Sorrows," the latest novel from a very good Manitoba author of Mennonite background, Miriam Toews. And someone just gave me the novel just published by our now-retired Chief Justice of Canada, Beverley McLachlin, called "Full Disclosure." It is, of course, a courtroom drama.
ReplyDeleteDon't know if any of those would be your cup of tea?
I am reading Circe, should finish it this week. Not sure if any of these titles would be my cup of tea, although I am always open to new works, but they will be difficult to find in the local bookshop.
