Basically, ordinary cupcakes with seasonal colours. It comes from my mother's side, my grandmother used to make them. They call them "mochas" for whatever reasons. I have never seen them anywhere else. Is it merely an obscure family tradition? Anybody else make them?

Christmas cupcakes
'Tis the season to be eating. And in excess, as the season is Christmas. Tonight's blogpost is about a dessert that my family makes every Christmas: these cupcakes. Basically, ordinary cupcakes with seasonal colours. It comes from my mother's side, my grandmother used to make them. They call them "mochas" for whatever reasons. I have never seen them anywhere else. Is it merely an obscure family tradition? Anybody else make them?
Not every Christmas anymore, somewhat unfortunately. Donuts come first, followed by bûches. Then cupcakes. Finally, rarest of all, sucre à la crème.

ReplyDeleteOn est plutôt sucre à la crème, gâteau aux biscuits et chocolats Turtle pour ma famille au Québec. J'ai l'impression que c'est plutôt une tradition familiale ou peut-être de votre bout de pays.
