The Halloween tag
I have been tagged by Ms Misantropia, so I need to answer this questionnaire then tag some more people. Above you can see the Jack O'Lanterns from last year. I thought it would accompany the post nicely.
Favorite Halloween song?
Too many to choose from, especially if you put into account theme music. If I had to choose, I'd say the Halloween movie score. Even though it is not a song at all. Fun fact: there are a few I downright hate. Other fun fact: I sang some when I was in primary school entirely made up by the pupils (except for the music).
Witch or vampire?
Vampire every time. But the old, classic, proper vampires, not the angsty teenagers we have now.
Favorite thing about Halloween?
This is a difficult question to answer, there are so many. The season, the pleasant frights, the way it has fired up my imagination since I was a child.
Halloween party or scary movie marathon?
The marathon, easily. I actually don't like Halloween parties much, as they often end up having very little to do with Halloween, just people wearing costumes getting drunk and listening to Thriller (which I hate). I truly enjoy Halloween when I can enjoy the horror, the fear...
Skeletons or zombies?
Skeletons, easily. Zombies are overrated. Skeletons are so deliciously macabre.
Favorite Halloween candy?
Difficult choice again. When I was going for trick or treat as a child, there was taffy I remember loving. I also used to receive Jack O'Lantern shaped marshmallows covered in chocolate, the size of a small cupcake. I think that was my favorite and I wish I could find them again.
Favorite Halloween movie?
If I had to choose, it would have to be Halloween. But there are so many I love, especially old Hammer movies.
Favorite Halloween costume?
One I wore or in general? Vampire costumes I always loved. My Halloween alter ego when I used to go for trick or treat as a child was a sort of Zorro looking monster hunter. Read this post if you want to know more.
Favorite Halloween store?
Dollarama? There was, there is still, a party store in Chicoutimi where I grew up, called Tout en party. I used to love it there.
Jack o'lanterns, yes or no?
Hell, YES! It wouldn't be Halloween without them. Or him. You can also read my own story of the character Jack O'Lantern here and here.
Bats or black cats?
Black cats. I love bats, but there is this little fellow that make the black cats win easily this one. I mean look at him.
Is Halloween your favorite holiday?
Yes, since as far as I can remember.
Pumpkin spice latte or hot chocolate?
I don't like coffee, so I might have to say hot chocolate. However, I much prefer pumpkin chai from David's Tea (especially in this mug), so I cheat on this question.
Now for tagging:
-Debra from She Who Seeks.

Interesting answers, Guillaume! Thanks for tagging me -- I'll post my answers closer to The Big Day Itself!
ReplyDeleteQuoi tu n'aimes pas Thriller ?
ReplyDeleteJe vais regarder si je trouve le film que tu suggères pour Halloween ... on risque de faire un marathon de films ou aller au Rocky Horror.
Loved reading your answers! I don't think I've ever been tagged, so this is new for me. Looking forward to this.
