Autumn tea (and David's Tea)

This is one of the new happy discoveries I had walking on Mont-Royal Avenue yesterday: David's Tea a nice and trendy tea shop chain. The place has changed a lot since I left Montreal: a few years ago, cafés like Second Cup,Van Houtte and the dreaded Starbucks were dominating the place. Not that I minded, for me they are part of Montreal, but as a tea drinker I am happy I now have a choice, a place specialised in the drink. I mean, drinking tea in a café is nice enough, if they have quality stuff, but it is still not their area of expertise. It makes a nice difference to have a proper tea shop.

So yes, I went there yesterday and it took me about 30 seconds to be completely sold. Here's the reason why: they have a fall collection. Fall as in autumn. And it smells and tastes so nice. I bought the pumpkin chai. Well of course. A whole packet of it. And I had a small pack of mom's apple pie. The irony is that I am no big fan of apple pies. But it really smelled lovely. Here is an anecdote to illustrate how good it is: when I was back, my brother was about to make molasse cookies (galettes à la mélasse). I suggested we had them in an afternoon tea. He was not keen as he is a coffee drinker. But then he smelled the pumpkin chai. And he was sold. I had been waiting, hoping to find a tea that was autumnal. I was about to ask my readership for some help. Now to think I found it, at complete random, in Montreal.
