The Nibelungenlied
I book this book recently in one of the charity bookshops of the town. I am terrible, as I already have many, many books. But an English translation of the Nibelungenlied is fairly difficult to find and one has to cease the opportunity when he sees it, especially in a place where finding good books (by this I mean finding something different than the main bestsellers) is often difficult. When you see a treasure on the bookshelves, you cannot pass it on. So I am now the proud owner of an English translation of the German epic. I know the main lines of the story from Viking mythology. I don't know when I will read it, I am a seasonal reader and need to find the right time and mood, but I know it will be a pleasant read.
Are you watching that miniseries called Vikings on the History Channel?
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately no. I need to check it.
