Candlemas

It is Candlemas today, I had my usual pancakes as a dessert, I will have some of the rest tomorrow morning for breakfast. This is a tradition a French friend made me discover. Nobody celebrates it over here, but yesterday the vicar that comes sometimes to the school made a little speech about it, then lit three candles. And before and after the kids prayed. I still don't get it, in a public school, surely it is not the place. I am all in favour of teaching Christian culture, but the worship is seriously out of place. Anyway, I had my pancakes. Amen.
