Halloween in Montreal

I am very slow writing my countdown to Halloween posts. I usually write at least one a day, but not always in English. So here is this evening's one. I took this picture at the entrance of l'Inter-marché on Mont-Royal avenue. They have a display at the entrance, with among other things this Jack O'Lantern looking very much like a scarecrow. I guess a supermarket would play with the harvest associations a lot. But it struck me: here Halloween is everywhere. Every shop has its display, modest or elaborate, houses already have decorations outside and you really feel the day coming.

when i lived in toronto in the 80's you could not find one single sign of halloween anywhere. i am so happy to hear it is being embraced!

I've seen a decline in Halloween displays in Halifax over the past few years. Hopefully the trend changes.

Our neighbour's yard is jam-packed full of Halloween inflatables, both cute and macabre. They do Halloween in a big way!

Yep, my neighbor down the street is advertising a walkthrough haunt in their yard.
